Valiant Hum are a 4-piece Acoustic/Rock band from Auckland, New Zealand.
Their sound is definitely airing towards melodic rock, and the production on this free album is pretty much spot on.
There are no catches with this one, just visit the website and download the tracks. The only thing is you have to download each track individually [...]

Reading The Dexateens website, you wonder if you’ve accidently stumbled across a parallel dimension, where people make up bizarre words to describe music.
Highlights include “Southern-accented garage-punk”, “hard-drinking Southern-fried rock” and “skillet-rock” - whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean. If you didn’t know better, you’d think you’d stumbled into Kentucky Fried Music!
Speaking of music, [...]

guardian.co.uk, the online version of the UKs The Guardian newspaper, have secured an exclusive Bob Dylan MP3 download.
The track, Mississipi, was recorded in 1997 during the sessions for Bob’s Time Out of Mind album, and did feature on the final record. This download however is a never-before-released, early stripped-down version.
Of course, being a record label [...]

Always ones to do things at right angles to the rest of the music industry, Marillion have gone and done it again with the release of their new album, “Happiness is the Road”.
They’ve decided to use the new album as an enticement, or lost-leader, for other merchandise, concert tickets, etc.
Not on that, but they’ve released [...]

Hi everyone,
As suspected, the RSS feed seems to have thrown a wobbly and posted the last 9 items again along with my latest post.
Please accept my apologies. Normal service should now resume.
Thanks, Dan

Yep, as you can see… we’ve undergone a bit a makeover here at NMO. A new theme, and a sharper focus on promoting real music, made available freely and legally by real bands.
That’s not the only change… sadly, Mosh has left NMO to concentrate on his top-secret search engine project. So, New Musical Order has [...]

The Bastard Fairies describe their music as oxymoronic, naughty but nice. Sounds lovely.
Hailing from Minneapolis, The Bastard Fairies are a 2-peice with a Mac, a copy of Garage Band, and a bunch old guitars and children’s toys.
“Memento Mori” was originally released free, as a 12 track download, but has since been released as a deluxe [...]
